Coaching Ethics Code

This USA Coaching Ethics Code intends to provide standards of ethical conduct for coaches involved with USA Hockey and its member organizations. It provides General Principles and Ethical Standards which cover many situations encountered by coaches, with its principle goals the welfare and protection of participants with whom coaches work. Coaches will respect and protect human and civil rights and not knowingly participate in or condone unfair discriminatory practices.

There are also video resources available to help train proper skating and shooting techniques.

Key Requirements For All Coaches (Head Coach And Assistants):

  • You must register online with USA Hockey
  • You must complete a background check
  • You must complete SafeSport training (every year)
  • You must have the appropriate USA Hockey CEP Level
  • You must complete the appropriate USA Hockey Age-Specific Module(s)
  • You must sign the USA Hockey Code of Conduct agreement
  • You must sign the SafeSport Code of Conduct agreement
  • You must have a Consent to Treat form on file
