Tuition

Tuition fees are established by the BYH Board of Directors prior to each season to ensure that the association covers all the costs associated with operating the program.

Examples of the costs associated with operating the program include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ice Time for Practices and games

  • League Fees

  • Referees

  • Coaching education program (CEP), background checks, USA Hockey Age Specific Modules

  • Tournaments 

  • Insurance

  • Pucks & Equipment

  • Other Administrative Costs

For the 2023-2024 full time 10U-18U goalies are 1/2 price tuition.

TUITION PAYMENTS:

Invoices will be emailed to the SportsEngine account used to register your player.  If it needs to be sent to a different email address, you must notify the BYH treasurer during registration.

The invoice will come from SportsEngine with the subject "New Bill from Berlin Youth Hockey." Click on the link to pay the invoice or set up automatic monthly payments.

Invoices will be sent for the full tuition amount, followed by a new invoice if there are any credits to be applied - calendar raffle, sibling discount, coaching credits, ect.

Invoices can also be viewed by visiting https://my.sportngin.com/user/bills.

Payment options:

  • Pay in full when invoice is emailed.
  • Pay in equal monthly installments when invoice is emailed (Sept 31, Oct 31, Nov 31, Dec 31st)
  • Mail a check to pay in full or in installments.

NO SKATE POLICY:

BYH requires that all tuition payments be made in full on or before the December 31st due date (Oct 31th for Midgets) unless prior arrangements have been made with the BYH Board of Directors. Unless there is prior approval or a payment plan in place, a no-skate policy will be instituted, and the skater will not be allowed on the ice until tuition fees are paid.

If there is a hardship case you must contact a member of the Executive Board in writing explaining your hardship case and what payment arrangements can be made; this letter must also be signed.

MULTI-CHILD DISCOUNT

BYH offers discounts for families with multiple children in our programs. Your oldest player tuition is 100% paid by you. The second child receives a 10% discount, and third+ children get a 15% discount off their tuition per year. Please note that Registration and USA Hockey Fees are not discountable.

Refunds

BYH is under no obligation to provide refunds or credits of any kind.

Refunds or credits may be granted by the Board of Directors upon written request either in full or in part in the event of a season ending injury. Any refund or credit granted will be solely at the discretion of the Board.

Refunds or Credits will not be granted under any circumstances to any player who are expelled or suspended from the league as a result of a disciplinary action.

As USA Hockey fees are non-refundable, no refund or credit will include said fees.

At the conclusion of the evaluation process, refunds or credits will not be available in the event a player wishes to resign from the program.  Dissatisfactions with a player's placement is not grounds for a refund or credit under any circumstances.

The Board will consider a refund or credit on a pro-rated basis for a player whose family relocates to a new address outside of Coos County during an ongoing season.
